BlackSky Technology Inc. shares rallied 13.5% Thursday amid announcements of its participation in upcoming space defense conferences. The earth-imaging satellite specialist will present at both the Space Defense and Security Summit and World Space Business Week in Paris next month.
More significantly, the company recently unveiled Project Orbion - a collaboration with Iceye and other tech firms to develop a VIRTUAL "digital twin" of Earth. This synthetic aperture radar-powered system could serve as a GPS alternative for military navigation in jammed environments, while also enabling civilian applications like disaster monitoring and logistics tracking.
